The Gokhale Education Society’s College of Education and Research, Mumbai, has a long tradition of community services and a strong sense of social responsibility. We are committed to honouring this heritage and improving the quality of life of the communities we operate in.

We work closely with various institutes, organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGO) to initiate programmes for development, education and healthcare. We have an active community programmme for the prospective teachers to spearhead our efforts to integrate concerns, institutional values, culture and moral decisions at all levels of the curriculum.

To facilitate the implementation of these initiatives, social service clubs have been set up for all the students to participate in. The students and the staff members through these Social Service Clubs render community service throughout the year. The students choose any one of the clubs to work during their course duration.

Social service is a very important aspect of a curriculum and as such feeling for the community is instilled in the prospective teachers by way of active participation in projects involving visiting and rendering social service at the various social service organization.
